I work for internal medicine. The do an EGD (esophogealgastroduodenoscopy), they go down your throat with a camera and check out your esophagus and tummy. They usually obtain a couple of biopsies while they are down there. I believe, not 100%, but i think they can do a blood test to check for H. Pylori. Some medicines to treat are antibiotics, prevacid, or prilosec, carafate suspension (liquid). Hopefully they can get you diagnosed and treated soon. I've heard it makes you pretty miserable. You should probably be avoiding acid producing food. You can look online for a GERD (gastro esophageal reflux disease) diet suggestions. Good Luck
