Don't know, but probably a myth
i dont use can food since all the dog food recalls - cant trust them.
I only soften kibble for lil pups untill they can eat it hard.
Canidae is very easy for lil pups to chew
I have a 9 wk old & 16 wks old eating only hard kibble now since they were 7 wks old.
