How about Alex Kava & Ted Dekker? If you haven't read their work I highly recommend it!

Try www.half.com or ebay for the books at a discounted price, some people sell them in lots ... you end up getting them for like 2$ a book.

start Harlan Coben with the first of the Myron Bolitar books... he is a really good writer.

At least I like his style ... kinda 'down to earth' if you know what I mean.
