Definitely wait until the second round at least. I waited until the third round to be safe, because there are still a lot of horrible diseases that they are exposed to at that point. Then, when you do take him out, carry him, and don't allow him to be exposed to any germs. (Don't put him on the ground, around dogs, or let people you don't know hold or touch him.)
