Yes he was free all the time...I live in a very rural area and its common place for 'farm dogs' to run free...there are always a few that I know will be hit one day and this guy was one of them....a big beautiful Golden...I just didnt think I would be the one to do it...it was midnight and I was on my way to get my husband from work...thankfully he was killed instantly and didnt suffer but he could have had many more happy and healthy years if the owners just kept him inside and fenced in a part of their yard...they sure have the time and money for about 50 acres of land, beauiful cars in the driveway...why not build a nice fence for the dog to run around in....dog ownership is a privledge and people just think its their right to do what they want with them...it saddens me to no extent...sorry to go on and on but I will always wonder why dogs running free isnt investigated and enforced...at least here in our rural areas it isnt...
