I am really sorry that you had to experience such horror.
The vet should have done an ultrasound/xray.
I cannot believe he did this. That is just horrible.
Keep a close eye on your girl, sometimes they will get an infection when something like this has happened.

You need to find a vet who will work with you and who knows when your dogs are due and will do xrays/ultrasounds so you have an idea how many pups your dog is expecting.
If your vet does not do 24 hours then make sure you have a vet that will release the xrays to you so you can take them with you when you have to see another vet on emergency situation so they have an idea what you are expecting, even thou most cases they will order more xrays.

Again I am really sorry for your loss.
I have never experienced a vet pulling out the placenta/ripping it from a live puppy causing it death.
