Default Consistency

I would have to say that what worked for Lexi is consistency. It took her about 6 months to really get the potty training down. I realized that in the beginning I didnt really have her on a good routine. Just took her out whenever...used pee pads...put her in her crate at night. But no routine. Once I started to take her out at the same time in the morning, same time later in the afternoon, and same time at night, she really got the hang of it. What also really helped was making sure she new that peeing inside was a NO-NO! Stern and loudly, I would tell her NO ! when I caught her peeing.

But My new lil guy Nico, really seems to be following Lexi's lead. He now learned the routine. And even though I have pee pads for him to use, he has learned that its waaay nicer to pee and poop outside and get a nice walk , than to do it inside. So he will hold it as long as possible before using the pee pads. Make the walks fun! I let them socialize with all the dogs in the neighborhood. They just LOVE their walks.
