When Logan gets scared. It doesn't matter what I say nothing will calm, except sitting down. He will run to me & press himself against my chest. When he does this I concentrate on breathing slowly & keeping my heart rate regular. When he sees that I am unaffected by said noise then he calms down too.
However, my dog does the same thing only with smoke. When i'm cooking & the kitchen gets smokie he will run to the door & beg to be let out, if we don't let him out he runs & hides in the bathroom. Nothing we do will convince him it's okay, so we usually just let him out into our 3-season room until he calms down.
