If it follows the whelping of each pup it is simply indication of blood breaking down from the separation site of the placenta of the pup that was just born. This green fluid is not a part of the clear fluid that the pups has been living in (water sack). If green is present in vomit or observed in copious amounts within the water it is cause for alarm and doesn't represent the normal lochia that is present at whelping. Does that sound correct? Let's all play nice now.

Thank you, Tami! What you described sounds like what my Westie experienced during her whelping. One last question, everyone keeps saying "fluid". Well, what my Westie had, along with the second puppy, was dark green/blackish but it wasn't really complete fluid, it was thicker than that. Is this normal?
Thanks!!
