7 weeks is too young to take the puppy away from its mother. At this point the puppy is probably just finished being weened. It still needs to stay with its mother and siblings to learn social behavior. You may end up having a lot of behavioral problems with the pup if you get it at this age. Also with it being 7 weeks old there is absolutely no way it can stay home alone for 10 hours. the puppy will be very small and will need to be supervised. It can have a hypoglycemic episode and possibly die while you are at work. There are too many dangers for a puppy that young to be alone.
