Charlie my first baby was only 7weeks, not by my choice
he was a rescue, my karleigh was 9 weeks and joey 16 weeks , molly 12 weeks, i had no problems with any of them, but i would deff wait untill 12 weeks or more, congrats on your new baby, you must be so excited
