Poor Snoot! Had it been a long time since he had eaten? Could he have gotten into anything in the yard, like grub-ex or mole killer or even fertilizer? I wish I could help you more. If you have a good vet that you trust, you could call and ask them for an opinion. Glad he's doing better now, I'm sure you were terrified.
