I haven't gotten them scanned yet, but I will just get it checked when I take them for the annual vet appt. Everything was sealed and sanitary so there is a very little chance of it not working. The same as every other chip. I checked to make sure there was a chip loaded in the needle before I did it and I can also feel the chip under their skin. Plus, the chip have a lifetime warranty so if it ended up not working the manufacturer would replace it.
