When Emma was a puppy, she went just about everywhere with me, except restaurants. Health codes are much stricter there than anywhere else.

She's been to the mall, the fabric store, the library, to my office (sleeps in my file drawer) and even to the grocery store several times. At first, my husband said I probably shouldn't take her to the grocery store, but then I had to a couple of times on the way home from other errands when I already had her with me.

My argument there is that you NEVER know what kind of germs are in a grocery store, or anywhere else for that matter. You can't tell me that my yorkies, who are properly vaccinated, bathed, and groomed have more germs and parasites than a grubby 6 year old boy, who has been catching frogs in a local swamp all day, has the beginnings of a cold, hasn't washed his hands in 3 days, and probably has head lice. And HE'S allowed in the grocery store!
