You want to be quick, calm and FIRM. With a quick snap harness, you should be able to unfasten it with one hand. Use your other hand to hold her head while you unclip. Loop your thumb over the top of her nose, your forefinger behind her ear and your other fingers under her chin. Hold her mouth closed firmly while you undo the clasp and pull the harness over head. You don't need to discuss it with her or negotiate. She needs you to be in charge for her to feel safe. After it's off a little praise is fine, but don't be excited about it.
A BIG GIANT DITTO....

My chihuahua and I got into quite a round with the harness and collar.....and she did finally bite me and it was a bad bite and it hurt!!!!
Thankfully...2 days later I found Cesar Millan..The Dog Whisperer on NGEO channell and the first show was about some horrible, biting, snarling chihuahua...

That show changed everything about how I deal with my dogs...it absolutley worked wonders for the chi and now for Lil Bit....they are dogs...no matter what anyone else says...and I love them to death....but they are dogs and I AM THE BOSS!!!!!

The chi still does not "like" to have the harness put on....but I just 'do it' and that is it...after our big round and biting...i started putting the harness off and on and off and on and off 2-3 times per day for about 3 weeks....just to show her who was the boss.....if I even think she is anywhere near close to thinking about biting I hold her firmly down and so "NO"!! I do have to fumble with the latch...but she sits there....sometimes shaking....but she lets me do it!!!!

Good Luck...and "BE THE BOSS"...... ...it's just a little tiny dog!
