You are so right....there have been 7 pound bitches that have been bred that are perfectly stuctured for whelping litters. A pup could get stuck going up the otherside to the other horn, be too big because it's in the horn by itself and grown too much or be too big and can't present itself and blocked off the rest of the litter and the whole litter is lost. So, yes you are right, research is best and research everything, pedigrees, lines, genetics, breeding, whelping, raising a litter. You can't prepare too much.
