The Euro chip is the type I am going to have implanted in Charlie. I understand you register the number with the animal shelter, etc. Eventually, the USA will catch up although I want to feel confident that the chip will be read in Washington and where ever I travel with Charlie. Since he has been to several vets, I would need to notify them also. Someone also suggested to have the microchip number engraved on their tags.
