The microchip is about the size of a grain of rice. It it usually placed up near the shoulders. The injection is not very painful at all. My yorkie yelped but my 3.5 lb Chihuahua didnt really every notice. The injection is right under the skin. They will pull the skin up to make sort of a tent and then insert the needle into the center of the "tent". It does not go into the muscle or anything. It stays just under the skin. It is honestly just one poke and they are done. |
