Its the size of a grain of rice. Ive never heard of anyones dogs having bad side effects because of it. It doesnt caise scar tissue however sometimes the chip can move but they say that iis not anything to be concerned with. They put it in the shoulder blade. There was an article on here and that is misinformation about it causing a tumor at the injecton site. That has not been proven and is a rumor
