I'm in the same boat as you. Kalina sleeps well in her crate, but she wakes up early and wants to get out. I never take her out when she is crying, because then she'll know what to do to get out. I wait until she has settled down and then I take her outside to potty and if she has to go she goes immediately. If she just acts as if she need a playtime, I put her back in her crate and go back to bed.

It's not easy, but I know that it's the right thing to do if I don't want her TOO BADLY SPOILED. If I get her to sleep all night in her crate and not beg for food while we are eating, I'll be happy. I'd rather spoil her in other ways. Meanwhile, I am VERY TIRED TOO!
