Default Today Started good and ended bad

Well I got called to the hospital today again. With bad news. Mikey has not started to have seizures. And now they are saying he is having problems with his brain stem. I will put becca's posts on here for you all to read. I am just so emotionally and physically drained and I am going back tomorrow, Sunday and will be there Monday. We are talking about moving him to a Children's hopsital. Fingers crossed these kids do it. Please If you have a minute can you please lite a candle for him. Here are Becca's posts for today.
FRIDAY MORNING
this morning when i saw mikey for the first time, he was wide awake again! he still had his arms in no-no's because last night he tried to rip his breathing tube out! so they just put some things on his arms to keep him from playing with the tubes. i talked to him for a bit and he was very alert. when i finally got him calmed down, the nurse took his no-nos off and told me they could stay off if i wanted to watch him. so i did and i put him to sleep (by rubbing his forhead, he loves it!) so that he wouldnt have to have them back on. so as of right now, he doesnt have them on. then they tried cpap again. his breathing became very off kilter. he would breathe really fast, then stop. he would catch himself though, which he wasnt doing before, and breathe again. however, his stats kept dropping when he would do that. the respitory person said something about chain stemming. which i guess is where the brain stem tells him to breathe and not to breathe. said it was not working properly. the resident said they discussed that the other day, but feel like he is just not ready to come off (that its not his time) only because he is doing better and better every day. so after about a half hour, they put him back on the vent, only breathing for him once every 20 seconds. now he is controling his breathing (although he still takes pauses-which is normal for any baby) and he is keeping his stats up. so it may just be a process of weaning him off of it for the day. although they may not take him off today because of what he was doing earlier, which i wouldnt be upset about. i want to make sure he is going to do it by himself before they take it out, so they dont have to put another one is. once its out, i want it to stay out. they will be giving him a steriod shot to help his throat heal a little with how long the tube has been in for. we are crossing our fingers everything turns out okay. and he proves the nurses wrong again!

FRIDAY AFTERNOON
i just wanted to let you all know that this morning i watched mikey have a seizure. i had the nurse watch him and she agreed that he was having a cunvolsion. when we watched him, we noticed that it was mainly his left arm and side that was moving. however his head and right arm were moving slightly as well. i had actually watched him have some convulsions like these earlier in the day, but thought it was normal baby activity because he was awake and alert during them. he is having a two hour mri performed right now to see if they can find out why he is seizuring now. they told me that there are a few things they are concerned about. first, the infection has clogged his brain stem and is causing the seizures, or that the infection once again, damaged his brain stem. the only other thing is that there may be fluid built up and its causing pressure. that is the one im hoping for, cause that is the easiest fix of all. but they said the probability of that is slim to none. the doctors have a feeling he will never come off the respirator. and i really dont know what i would do if they asked me if i was ready to pull the plug. he is stable, but cant breathe by himself. most of the family is up here now, and are here for support. mike is here for the weekend and will be with me when we recieve the results from the mri. im becoming more and more scared at this situation. hes my baby. what would i ever do if i lose him???
