Our little furbaby girl had 4 teeth pulled when she was spayed and had quite a bit of pain for the following 5 days. Many people mentioned that spaying didn't cause their dogs much pain, so my guess was that the teeth-pulling bothered her. The way the dr. said we could tell if she was in pain was whimpering and trembling and aggitation, like pacing around. She was doing all those things.
To give our furbaby girl her pills I simply take a tiny dab of liverwurst and roll it around the pill like a tiny meatball. She loooooves liverwurst and since it is soft and like a paste, it allows her to swallow even larger pills right down without having to chew at all. She never complains. In fact, when we open her pill bottle, she's johnny on the spot just waiting for her "liverwurst treat." |
