I have a male who is now 18 mos old. I wanted to breed him to one of my females when he was just a year and he just didn't seem interested. So I decided to wait another heat cycle. She went into heat again the end of may and was sticking it right in his face for days, knocking him around, flagging him, etc. I knew she was ready but again he just didn't seem interested. So I took her to a breeder friend and paid to have her bred. Bingo! The minute I got her home and he smelled that she was with another, he was ready. I said too bad buddy, and had to separate them for over a week just to make sure he did not get her. I figured as much!!! Oh well I will try the bath idea if next time he seems disinterested.
