We are in Colorado on the "western slope" about 25 miles from the Utah state line! We will be here for several years ... our "home" is in Alabama, so the weather here is quite a shock for "southerners" where we rarely wear heavy coats in winter! We are in an area of the state where large accumulations of snow is rare ... we can see it on the mesas and never have a flake here. There are lots of ski resorts ... on our drive back from Colorado Springs yesterday there were just tons of people skiing .... it was really neat! It was really funny ... we got an early phone call from my husband's sister in Alabama just to let us know that it was snowing in Alabama!!
A rare occurance but it is quite exciting!
