The only real designer purses I have had are from Dooney & Burke. I just like their designs the best. But I agree that the leather ones can be very havy (even the smaller ones). The only reason I had those is I worked for a company where the "Burke" was a family member and hence we were offered them at a 50% discount. Even then they were still expensive.
For you Brighton fans, Marc Chantel sells his bags through many Hallmark stores. He used many of the same fabrics, the same hardware and leather and they run from about $45-90. They are really cute and hold up well also.
For all others, I am all about the fabulous fakes - especially since I tire of them easily. I just got an adorable black & white polka dot "Kate Spade" for $60!!
