With any business, even home based businesses, if you are going to make any money at it, you are going to have to devote quite a bit of time to that business. If you are in the craft business, you will need to attend farmers' markets, craft shows, etc (not to mention time spent making your product), If you are in the customer service business or home show business, you will be spending alot of time out side of the home, drumming up business and performing your service. Sometimes you will spend more time away than even a regular job, especially in the begining when you have to get the business off the ground.

You really can't make a living from a home based business without a lot of forethought, energy and time. (although you can control the hours you work, to some extent)

So it's not necessarily true that you will be "home" more, because you do have business at home.

Also having a website does not necessarily mean that you will generate business from the website, just because it's there. There is a lot of sales work involved in getting your name "out there".
