I was wondering how you decide what to charge for a puppy. I just bought a puppy last week after a lot of searching and I think she's just great. However, I noticed that puppies can run anywhere from $800 to $4,000. This is what I noticed from all the different people I spoke to - some professional breeders and some just regular people who have a litter or two but aren't really "experts" and I mean no offense by any of this.

My own breeder had puppies that ranged in a variety of prices. I am really just curious as to why my puppy was a certain price and what it is based on.
