Sometimes I think people get a puppy because it is a cute toy. Then it needs training and attention which the owner is not willing or able to provide, then, well.....

I was at the pet store the other day and a gal came up to me and asked if Gracie was a Yorkie. I said yes. She smiled. Gracie greeted her and she clumsily bent down and pet her. It was obvious she had never been around a dog before. She then stood up and said "I so want a Maltese, they are so cute". I could have been offended. Rather, I just thought about the poor puppy that might end up with this gal.
