I really hate to say this, but if your parents don't want a high maintainance dog, then a Yorkie was not the best choice. Even when healthy, a Yorkie is high maintainance.

If you do decide to put him up for rescue, then I suggest you try here first. There are a lot of people on here who are knowledgable about liver shunt and would love to take him. And you would know that he was going to a great home.
