My dog actually liked the bitter apple. Just be consistant & patience. There will be more days like this to come. Try not to leave the puppy unattended. I believe it took a good month of the ouch comments to get over the biting with logan. It also took a good 5 months to teach him that lunging at people's faces with your mouth open isn't nice, but he did get it eventually. Now that he's two, it seems all the consitancy is finally paying off. Now he'll even drop underwear right away if you say drop it. One day it will click & you'll have a wonderful dog....but the puppy stage is a little tough to get through. Another thing that Logan picked up pretty quick is the phrase play nice....or lick nice. Then they know the play isn't bad they just have to be nicer about it.
