Even though I work a lot from home, I felt JoJo was laying around too much and looking bored and lonely. We had plenty of play time but it seemed like something was missing for him. He was still a puppy himself at the time (9 months) and I thought if he is going to live a good, long life he should have a brother!
We adopted Gucci from Rescue when he was 6 months old and it was the best thing we ever did for JoJo! He came to life, doesn't seem stressed when we have to go out and they just love each other! Gucci also prefers his company and would not have done well alone.
I was really thinking of getting a younger dog (around 1-3 years) and not a puppy but Gucci came along and we just couldn't resist applying for him.
If you don't want to do the puppy thing again, why not consider a rescue. There are so many great dogs out there! We just attended a Yorkie picnic this past weekend sponsored by Saveayorkie Rescue and there are so many happy endings!
