Hi Everyone,
Sorry for not posting earlier, but we have had a very rough day. Just to start off I will tell you some of what happend but I will also put my daughter's posts of the day in this letter so you all know what went on.
To start off with this morning I got up to make a post on YT,but my internet server was down. So I had to go to work. I had to take the person I take care of to the hospital for surgury. Well, after we got home from the hospital I got a call from a very close friend.(my daughter's god mother) she was crying her head off. I asked her what was wrong.( well today my daughter knew she would have a hard time getting ahold of me becuase I was going to be in the hospital all day) My friend asked me if I had read Becca's latest post. I said no why. Well she read it to me.(I am posting it now here it is)
hey everyone. i was informed this morning that what mikey has is menangitis. when i got back with mikey this morning, they decided they wanted to try the cpap again. which is a good thing. they are still trying to get him off of the ventilator. he actually did really well for about 10 minutes, he was breathing by himself. but he wasnt active and they wanted him to wake up a little bit. so they started tapping his feet and wiggling his legs. then he stopped breathing. and his o2 went down, and then his heart rate started to drop. so they hooked him back up to the ventilator. however, that isnt the bad news. the doctor explained to me after a few things they are concerned about. they said he is being watched very well and they want to make sure everything is going to get better. they told me two things that could be happening. they said where he is having a hard time keeping his temp up, and now having apnea spells, it could mean that the bottom part of his brain has been affected. that it may never heal. the other thing was that the menangitis has severaly affected his brain and has done damage to it and now he will have more problems then he would have before. they are continuing to watch him, and we are now waiting for the neurologist to have his input. this was some very hard information to absorb by myself. i really wish mike was here right now, but i understand he needs to work. we still need to pay bills, as every family does. mikey has been very inactive for the last day. they think that could be due to his brain as well. they are still doing test, but are not entirely sure how everything is happening. they believe he got menangitis from the surgery. mikey is still pulling, but im not sure for how long. he is doing okay, but everyday changes. its starting to get hard with the information i heard today. i dont want to lose my baby. he is my world. i gotta go and have a good cry now. i will update later.

By the time my friend got through half of the letter I was in tears. Before I could get off the phone with her she informed me she sent her husband(my daughter's godfather) to be with her so she wasn't alone. I got off the phone with her and called Becca to see what was going on. NO answer. So I called my mother and made a few other calls. Becca called me back and she asked me to please come. I got someone to come in and sit with the people I take care of and ran. Now this hospital is well over an hour away. While I was on the road I got a call from my daughter with more bad news. This is what she posted the second email(here it is again)
after writing the last email, i went back to be with mikey. the doctor came in and informed me that results from an earlier lab came back. it seems that his red blood count is low. and is getting lower. so he is losing blood somewhere, and it is pooling up somewhere as well. so now he is on his was down to have a ct scan done because they think he may be hemorraging in his brain. either way, he will be having a blood transfusion. after we get results i will try to email again. i have called several family members and mom is on her way. aunt holly, uncle ray is here now. i know i said i didnt want any visitors, but this is for me. right now, i need support. im about to break down. thank you all so much for the support. it is helping in its own way.

So I was on my way to say goodbye to my new grandbaby. When I got there everyone was there with her and her husband. The nurse came out and was talking to her when we got there. So i came in at the last of everything. But they were waiting on the Neurologist to come in and talk to my daughter and her husband. When the kids came out and told us what the doctors said we were over joyed. I am going to post what my daughter posted again. Sorry I am just so tired from everything that went on today I am having a hard time keeping my eyes open. And I have a major Migraine.

i wanted to let you all know that finally we got some good news from the neurologist. we found that he is severaly anemic, and that is why his red blood count is low. they have been pushing fluid and taking blood, so now they are giving him his blood transfusion to help with it. as soon as he started to get blood, he woke right up and kept looking around. it was the best thing i have seen in a while. then the neurologist came in and said that his brain looks great. if anything it looks better because his ventricles have still come down in size. he is not seizuring, and there is no hemorage in his brain. he said the results of the EEG were that of a normal child, just slightly slow, which with a hydro baby is common. the fluid around his brain will be reabsorbed, and they are not concerned about it at all. he is starting to come around. they said probably two more days and he will be off the ventilator, and hopefully out of the PICU. i will continue to update when we get more results.

So as you can all see we all have had a emotional rollercoaster today. I do need to ask you all again to please keep those candles lite for my grandbaby. They last 48 hours, you can lite as many as you would like and as often as you like. He is going to get better I can feel it. My daughter opens all the candles and reads them when she has the chance. I really think that it lifts her spirits. I am going to post the link again for all. Thank you all for caring and worrying about updates. If you see it has taken me a while to post you will know that there is something up and I will get back to you as soon as I can get to a working computer. Thank you all again.
