A POP shot should never be given during the whelping of the first pup, it will cause premature placentia seperation. I have had my vet give an additional shot. But the amount given was minimal and only on a bitch that had delivered 3 and 2 more were there. But, he only waited 5 minutes for the contractions to begin again...they didn't and he went in to get the other 2. Timing is very important when administering Oxcy.

The other thing about Revolution. I don't give my dams anything, beginning from just before they begin their Season until the pups are 2 weeks old, then I begin their heartworm meds again (Intercepter without the other poison for fleas). Great for deworming pups too, through mothers milk.
