For everybody whose dogs get really excited when they see the harness, I suggest putting it on at odd times of the day very calmly and quickly and then NOT going out, just ignore them for awhile and then take it off. Don't really ignore, keep an eye on them so they don't get caught on anything, but no playing, no treats, no excitement. If they stop expecting an out everytime the harness appears they should calm down. When they Do need an Out try to put the harness on about 5 minutes early and 'ignore' them for those five minutes and then clip on the leash and say out. |
