Ellie was having symptoms of a UTI so she went to the vet last night. They like to take a urine sample instead of the owner bringing one so it isn't contaminated but they said if we could get one that would be okay. Well, that didn't work to well so they had to take it. When we got to the vet they were VERY busy. It is an ER hospital so they had a ton of emergencies. The vet tech came out and said that there wasn't a room available (they are adding on more rooms) so would it be okay if she took her back for the vet to look at and take a urine sample. Ellie's vet is very good and I trust her so that was fine. They said that they didn't have to sedate her. I was thinking that they were going to do it by catheter but I found out that she did a cystocentesis.

I am glad she didn't have to sedate her but am just curious. What would your dog's vet have done? It seems like a weird poll question though so I thought I would ask it in the forums.
