Many years ago I had almost the exact same experience except my puppy turned and opened her mouth when the vet gave her a shot and she grabbed her by the bridge of the nose and squeezed till the puppy was literally screaming and proceeded to tell me all about her issues. I left there crying and called my mom in Hawaii who listened to the whole story and then said, "Honey, is that the only vet in Utah?" That certainly put it in perspective for me
