Thanks for the reminder about the rescue remedy. I have some and may give some to Gracie before show time. I don't want to distract her from the fireworks because I want her to experience them and understand they are nothing to fear. I would in no way consider taking her to a public display for her first fireworks show. I would be so afraid that she would freak, slip out of her harness and run off and get hit by a car or something. She is afraid of the vacuum and the ironing board folding (it is very old and loud). Thanks for the reminder about not coddling her. I try not to do that when she is frightened of other things. I think we will watch the fireworks on TV, and share an ice-cream cone, our usual evening routine (except the fireworks, that will be new).
