Last year, we held Buttercup in our arms and cuddled with him while my son and the neighbors' children played with fireworks. He seemed a little distress over the loud popping for the first 30 minutes and then he warmed up to it and joined them (only he didn't pop it himself). Just a precaution though, it can be dangerous because my neighbor's poodle ran staight into a rocket that was about to shoot into the air.
