As far as chewing goes. I would suggest to puppy-proof the house until the chewy stage is over. I don't really see any other way during this phase. It'll be the safest thing for your baby without having to confine her all the time. It won't last forever, but it may seem like it!! I don't know about the other questions, but you'll get good advice here. Congrats on your new baby.
