will he sit for a cookie?
I have morgan trained to go to her kennel when i tell her to. I used to point at it and say kennel and have a treat in there when she got there. Then i used to give her another small peice of treat so that she was extra rewarded when she went in. Now when i have to leave her for work or even for a few minutes and i don't want her following me i just say "kennel" and point and she runs in there.

nice and easy (btw her kennel is her ex-pen)
