Thanks for the reply, I was looking for the black wire ones but didn't see them at Petco. My mom uses them for her two girls and I like them a lot. I want the puppy to feel safe and be able to see what is going on around him. I like the openness of it too. I wasn't sure about the plastic ones myself. I am clostiphobic so they just don't appeal to me
