dwerten's advice is entirely correct. This is a painful and dibilitating disease which leads to colitis which is also called ibd, (she initially began with pancreatitis) and a lot of the vets are not specialized in treating. An internist is specialized and exactly what is needed. My vet didn't know how to properly treat, and believe that her lack of knowledge caused Sophie to suffer. Went for a second opinion, and told she was too frail to have further testing. I would read everything on the internet, cross reference the recommendations and drugs. They seem to want to push Science Diet since it is handy in the backroom which is necessarily not a good idea.

Yorkie's parents, please take immediate action if blood ever appears in vomiting or stools.
