First I'd like to say that I'm so glad I found YT. Everyone here seems so friendly and helpful. There is a real sense of community here.
My family and I looking to add to our family. We decided that a Yorkie would be a good fit. We'd like to rescue or adopt one, but can't seem to find one in our area (Fort Belvoir, VA / Washington DC) or that will adopt to a home with a child (she's almost 9). So that has us looking for a reputable breeder. Ideally, we'd rather not ship and would like to meet the pup before finalizing anything.
We're a military family and still have a few moves ahead of us before we retire. We can't guarantee if we'll have a big yard with every move and feel a smaller sized Yorkie would be the better fit for us. So we're looking for one that won't get much bigger than 5-6lbs. Our new addition would definitally be an inside dog with lots love lavished upon it. We currently do have a nice size backyard and a wonderful neighborhood for walks. He/she would even have some kitty siblings to play with. That is if they can be roused from their perpetual naps. lol
Now for the really tough part. Hopefully it won't spark too many giggle fits.
We have $400 or a bit more if we find someone who accepts a credit card. We know that it's probably near impossible, but still have hope we'll be able to find our furbaby!
