I got a pup once at 6 weeks (was told he was older) and it's also very common that pups are sold at 8 weeks down here. I didn't know his true age until I received his papers which took an act of God and a lawsuit threat to receive.
When I got him, he had his canine teeth and his regular teeth were pushing through. I will say that if your pup has only been fed soft foods, it will take longer for the teeth to push through.
When I have pups, I start feeding them moistened/hard food around 5 1/2 - 6 weeks of age. It helps those teeth to come through.
Do you have any documentation on the age of your pup? |
