I still stand by what I have said before those, the cage has to go. Gate them in the kitchen for the hours that you are at work. You can use the cage for sleeping purposes.
I have 2 - We got them at the same time and they are Frick and Frack. I love 2 and they love and occupy each other when I am away.
They are home during the day while we work
(Anywhere from 10 to 12 hrs - M thru F).
They were kept in a small spare room, with a baby gate at the door. Inside the room they had their crate, beds, toys, dry food, water and the doggie litter boxes with wee wee pads, I also left a radio on for them. They were contained there until they were 1 year old. Now they have Free Run of the down stairs, but spend their days sleeping on the couch and looking out the window.
When I am home, I feed them and then walk them and then play and watch TV and go to bed. They sleep with us. The weekends I am home cleaning, etc. but I spend all my free time with them.
I think it is def. possible to have them with your work schedule, but you have to treat and train them properly for it to work.
YT is a GREAT place, we are all here to help you learn the Yorkie World and soon enough you'll have enough experience to help others. | These are all FANTASTIC ideas! Great advice from someone with experience with 2 puppies at the same time who also works long hours. |
