Trauma! Oh no! I let my neighbors take Archie to the park in the snow (he had a sweatshirt and jacket on) and 15 minutes later, they were knocking on the door and my neighbor was holding Archie who looked shocked and frozen! There were icicles stuck on the hair on his feet and he was shaking. When I picked him up, he was so cold. I immediately took his clothes off and ran a warm bath for him and melted the icicles off his body. While I got a towel, he jumped out of the tub and ran into a little corner and sat there with this frozen look on him, shaking. I dried him off as best I could and he ran onto my bed, pulled the covers back and curled up against the pillow. I gave him some Nutrical to make sure that he's got some energy and his blood sugar hasn't dropped too low. I just called my boyfriend (who is at work) to tell him and he said that I have to keep an eye on him because he could get pneumonia. Poor Archie! He's traumatized! I don't understand it...yesterday, he was having a great time in the snow, and today, he was completely frozen even though he had more clothes on. Maybe he got stuck in a snow bank and panicked...He's sleeping in the spare bedroom right now and I'd say he'll be there for a while. |
