My puppies I have start to bark fairly young. I guess it depends on if they are around other dogs that bark or not. I have one dog that never barks and never makes a sound. I didnt even think she was capable of it until she was sleeping one day and something scared her and she started to bark for a second in her sleep. That is the only beep I have ever heard from her but my other dogs make up for it.
