I am so terrible for your loss especially since it is unexpected and you were not able to say goodbye. My prayers are with you and your family.

I had lost my first dog when I was a kid and it devastated me for the longest time so my mom swore never to get another dog because of that. It took me over 30 years to finally be ready to get another one, and now I have 2 . . . so I know how hard it will be if and when they do leave me behind.
