What about just putting a gate up and keeping him in the bathroom? I know in my little house space is limited. Mine are older now so they are not confined. But when they were little, I didn't have the money for a cage and I had a baby gate so I kept them in there. Linoleum floor-easy to clean up accidents and they had some room to move around for the times when I had to work longer hours.
