Hi, we have had our lil girl Avery for almost a week!! She is the cutest thing.. and seems to be adjusting fabulously. I do tend to get worried over little things though-because she is so small and i am not sure what to expect. Her parents are pretty little 2.5 and 3 lbs.-So i don't know if her size makes a difference as well??
Anyways.. The lady we got her from was feeding and recommended IAMS chicken and rice wet puppy food. She said it was good for their tummies and they enjoyed it.. So i have been feeding Avery that. She seems to like it and is doing well with it (i also mix a little bit of the 'Super-Cal', she gave me into the food-as she said) and i leave this out for her all day. I do want Avie to eat dry food though but dont want her to choke, etc. I know i have to gradually switch her over so it does not upset her stomach.. should i soften the food then mix it into the wet food?? How much should i start out with and when should i increase the amount of dry food i give her?? i know she does not like her food watery though-probably just soft-(which is what i have been doing with her treats)?? Also i was recommended Eukanuba by a couple people.. and some yorkie breeders on the internet?? I bought Eukanuba dry small breed puppy food? anyone have anything bad to say about it-i have heard some people say some negative things.. but nothing that it is bad? -i have heard mixed things.. the positive is really positive and the negative is not anything that bad?? i want to start switching her over but i want to make sure that is the right food. Also she is a little over 8 weeks old.. is this fine to change her diet??
Also.. any other info. on her raminding shots, or anything else that may be helpful to keeping our yorkie healthy, happy, and clean. (i have done my research and my mom also has a yorkie-but she is much bigger than my lil girl and is no longer a puppy) Oh and another quick question.. her eyes sometimes get a little watery-not anything really bad though, is this normal?? Thanks. Meg.
